Welcome to Marianna Johnson Photography. I'm a women's branding, family, and senior portrait photographer based in Genesee County, Michigan.
Four years ago I picked up a camera out of a desperate feeling that I was meant for more than just being a stay at home mom. I wanted the best of BOTH worlds. I wanted time with my sweet girls AND I wanted to find my purpose in the world.
Fast forward to today and I am doing what I love, being the best mom I can be to my two favorite girls, AND have officially found my purpose through being a mompreneur and inspiring other women to do the same.

I am working to create connection with women across the globe and inspiring others to find out what they are truly meant to do in this life. I have a deep belief that we all are meant for SOMETHING. I do my best to accommodate all of my client requests. We work together to decide on the vision that you have for your session. I try my best to work with you to make sure your session flows easily. I work with my families on outfit selection, location selection, and time of day.
My top priority is to make sure you walk away feeling thrilled with your gorgeous photos and your client experience.
For all sessions, I require a 20% down deposit and contract signed at the time of booking to hold your day/time. No exceptions. Any questionnaires that I request (senior sessions and branding sessions) are due two weeks prior to your session so that I can properly plan and make this the best experience possible for you!

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: If my order comes with a collection, can I make changes to that collection?
A: I do my best to work with clients' needs, so I will try to make an even exchange within the collection, or, you can always choose the a la carte option if you need something else as well.
Q: What if we need to go over the allotted session time?
A: We will adjust the final invoice accordingly if it is a lengthly amount of time (usually more than 30 minutes). I usually only schedule one session per day (except on mini session days).
Q: Can you do newborn sessions?
I photograph lifestyle newborn sessions which take place in the comfort of your own home and where the parents are more involved with the sessions. Think documentary style (mom rocking baby, changing diapers, nursing, etc.)
Q: Why do I need to sign a contract?
A: A contract protects BOTH parties in writing with a signature from each participant. I require a contract before booking, no exceptions.
Q: What if I need more information about a session that I can't find on the website?
A: Please feel free to contact me directly at Marianna@MariannaJohnson.com. I try to respond within 24 hours.
Q: Do you photograph sports teams?
A: At this time, I do not photograph sports teams.
Q: Do you charge a travel fee?
A: Travel fees are assessed in the initial booking phase. I don't usually charge a travel fee unless travel time is over 30 minutes one way.
Q: What if I want to have more than the allotted locations/outfits/etc?
A: That is fine, but, please note that it does cut into session time.
Q: What if I need an extended family session?
A: Absolutely, but pricing is different than a normal family session. They usually take longer to coordinate, photograph each family, each family's children, etc.
Q: Do you photograph events?
A: At this time I photograph baby showers, wedding showers, and small parties.
Q: Can I do a full, lifestyle brand session in the studio?
A: Absolutely.
Q: Can you photograph headshots for my team of people?
A: Yes, pricing is determined after all information is collected (location, amount of people, time, etc.)

We hired Marianna for a Christmas mini session and she did a fantastic job! She communicated quickly and clearly and answered all of my questions. The original location would have required us to walk a good distance, which would have been hard to manage with 2 kids and 2 dogs, so she changed the location to make it easier and it was perfect!
